Vanessa Hudgens Movie?

Vanessa Hudgens

Don’t know for sure but here’s the gossip from justjared.com:

The 19-year-old High School Musical star is set to act in feature film “Will”, which shoots February in Austin, Texas is about a battle of the bands at a high school.

Here’s a description of the role Vanessa will be playing: [SA5M] The 5 is silent. Sam is 15 years old, dressed down in black jeans and t-shirt, with hair strategically hiding her face from the world, she is a loner, one of the school’s outsiders, constantly seen with a book in hand. Smart, with a sense of humor and a lot of disdain for her shallow peers, Sam is a former stutterer and now speaks slowly and deliberately. She teams up with Will on a class project, and the two quickly discover they have a lot in common. Their friendship eventually takes the shape of a burgeoning romance. Brought on board as the lead singer for the band Will is managing, Sam emerges from her cocoon, demonstrating grit and commitment to perfection.

Vanessa Hudgens Supports Best Buddies

Vanessa Hudgens and friends

Hudgens was at Ocean Drive Magazine’s headquarters to support Best Buddies, a program that provides employment opportunities and one-on-one friendships for people with mental handicaps.

She told press, “I’m here today in Miami to support Best Buddies.  Best Buddies is an amazing organization that helps support people with mental disabilities. Today, it actually put them in jobs, which is why I’m here at

Ocean Drive

. My manager is the person who actually developed it, and I found out about it and I thought it was an amazing organization. It’s really neat to reach out to people who are, like, fans, too. Just to be able to be a part of their lives is really neat.”

More Good Deedage

Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus

Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus keep up with their charity work by attending the Variety Power of Youth event benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital .  Vanessa may have had a tough time lately and Miley has suffered at the hands of the dreaded tabloids too, but they both know there are more important things in life.  I’m glad to see these two young women put that crap behind them and endulge in some good deedage.

I would also like to add here that many bloggers are saying that these “photo-ops” are used to dig oneself out of a scandal.  Personally, I don’t believe that, but even if it were true, I would rather see celebrities get “face-time” setting good examples than see them get “face-time” setting horrible examples.  We see all kinds of press when celebs screw up, but wouldn’t it be nice to see more press of celebs doing charity work and raks(random acts of kindness)?  Recently there have been a rash of raks and I couldn’t be happier about that.  See my entries about Colin Farrell and Renee Zellweger for more examples.

Bowling For Dollars

Vanessa Hudgens

Lovely Vanessa Hudgens took a little time to bowl for dollars.  She braved the hideous bowling shoe terror to raise funds for Best Buddies International which is an organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment.  Way to go Vanessa.  Yet another reason I’ve been pulling for you.

Alright People, Calm Down

Vanessa Hudgens

In the light of the way too many blogs about the nude pic of Vanessa Hudgens, I though I’d add my flip side two cents.  Everyone is saying that Disney is going to dump her as a result of the pic posted online.  First, if Disney does dump her, they are fools.  It’s not like she posed for Playboy.  She sent a pic to her boyfriend.  Big deal.  If I looked like her, I’d send a nude pic to my boyfriend and so would you, so let’s not get all high and mighty about this.  Second, she apparently never intended that photo to go public and shame SHAME on whoever snatched that photo and posted it online.  It was a private matter and we are all entitled to our privacy.  For those parents who no longer want Vanessa to be a role model for their kids…please.  If your kids are aware that there is a nude pic of her online, then your kids are either too old for you to worry about teen role models or they are too young to be surfing the net unsupervised.  I would be far more concerned about teen drinking and drug use than a pic of Ms. Hudgens.

Time to lighten up on the lady.  As nude photos go, it was tasteful and, again, meant for only one person, not the entire freakin’ world.
