Colin’s At Sundance

Colin Farrell

I don’t think any more needs to be said.  He’s a very cool guy and…well look at the pic.  Okay, so I said more.

Colin Farrell is a Great Guy

Colin Farrell shows off his prized kebab gold card at Abrakebabra.

He was recently at The Fourth ‘Abrakebabra for Childline’ day, which was held at Abrakebabra restaurants nationwide in Donnybrook, Ireland .

I love Colin and this is the reason why.  Sure he’s a talented actor, but when all is said and done, he does more good on this planet supporting all these charities and with his spectacular RAKs (Random Acts of Kindness) than any film he might be in can do.

Colin Racks Up More Good Deeds

Colin Farrell

I love him more every time I read about him.  Now, Colin has donated his time to sign books for Amnesty International.  The book is “Click” and Colin was at the Borders in NYC.

From Amazon.com: The world’s best beloved authors each contribute a chapter in the life of the mysterious George “Gee” Keane, photographer, soldier, adventurer and enigma. Under different pens, a startling portrait emerges of a man, his family, and his gloriously complicated tangle of a life.

The full list of authors includes:

Roddy Doyle, Booker Prize-winning author of A STAR CALLED HENRY; Nick Hornby, author of ABOUT A BOY; Ruth Ozeki, author of MY YEAR OF MEATS; Margo Lanagan, Prinz Honor Award-winning author of BLACK JUICE; Linda Sue Park, Newbery Award-winning author of A SINGLE SHARD; David Almond, winner of the Whitbread Award and Carnegie Medal and author of SKELLIG; Gregory Maguire, author of WICKED; Tim Wynne-Jones, two-time winner of Canada’s Governor General’s award and author of ONE OF THE KINDER PLANETS; Deborah Ellis, author of THE BREADWINNER; Eoin Colfer, author of the Artemis Fowl Books.

Colin Farrell is At It Again

Clara Hutchinson, Colin Farrell, and Kate McSweeney

Colin, the Special Olympics Global Spokesperson made a guest appearance at the Special Olympics in China and had this to say about it, “The Chinese always put out an incredible welcome to the entire Special Olympics family,” Farrell said. “It is exciting to see what Special Olympics China has accomplished in a short while, and there’s much more to be done. Wherever Special Olympics goes in the world, it brings out the best in people.”

I can’t get over the generosity of Mr. Farrell.  Every time I read about him, he’s doing something else to help others.  He may be on his way to sainthood.  O.K., maybe he’s not exactly looking for sainthood, but he’s a great guy and I hope he is rewarded now and later for his good work.

Above and Beyond the Call

Colin Farrell

I take great joy in reporting the good deeds that are performed by celebrities (because most blogs only report the negative side of celebrity).  So I wanted to tell you about what I found this morning.  Apparently, Colin Farrell has outdone himself.  From Hollyscoop.com:

Colin Farrell is one good Samaritan. While he was in Toronto, Canada promoting his latest project, ‘Cassandra’s Dream’ he bumped into a homeless man he recognized and decided to take him on a shopping spree.

He took him to Europe Bound Travel Outfitters and kindly told the employee’s to ‘Get him anything he wants.’

Store manager Dave Mott said: ‘It was like they were best buddies. The homeless guy was going around grabbing stuff.’ The pair picked up a $500 Arc’Teryx coat, a North Face sleeping bag, and a rolling backpack stuffed with socks, boots and underwear.

The total for all the clothes came to $2100 and Farrell paid the tab. Fortunately for the homeless man Farrell’s generosity didn’t end there. He then took him to an ATM and took out a stack of $20’s which he handed to the man. Wait, it didn’t end there either! After that, Farrell arranged for the man to get out of the streets and offered to pay rent for a room for a year so he can have a roof over his head.

This was no random homeless guy however. He goes by the name of ‘Stress’ and Farrell met him a few years back. We can say that Colin’s his Guardian Angel.

Now that’s what I’m talking about.  Colin Farrell rocks!
