Another EXCELLENT Idea

This is a trend I’m definitely loving.  In order to promote, people are turning to charities and allowing fans to help people to show their support.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Moonlight” fans are joining forces with the Red Cross and YouChoose.net to organize a nationwide blood drive in support of the series. Already more than 3,000 fans have pledged to donate a pint.

In addition, the trade paper is reporting that the fan actions are expected to prompt Alex O’Loughlin, the show’s blood-sucking star, to take a new role as Red Cross spokesman.

Scary Dude

Marc Senter (left) as Ray Pye

I watched Jack Ketchum’s “The Lost” last night (yeah I know I’m a bit behind) and while I am something of a connoisseur of horror, I have to admit that Marc Senter’s portrayal of sociopath, Ray Pye, was riveting.  He was scary as hell, yet kind of funny too.  I expect to see this guy move up quickly in the film industry.  If you’re a horror fan and have yet to see “The Lost”, go and get this one.  Blood and guts aside, Ray Pye is one scary dude.  And to make it creepier still, it’s based on a true story…at least that’s what I’ve read.

Lookin’ Good

Amy Winehouse (a recent photo)

I’m just saying…credit where credit is due.  I don’t know what she’s doing these days but it’s working.

Fan Power

Wentworth Miller

Fans of Wentworth Miller have organized to show their appreciation of their favorite actor.  I think this is an excellent and creative way to show support and more fan groups should do the same.

From the site:

(Wentworth Miller’s reply)

“It’s my privilege to be a part of the entertainment business, an industry that has reached out to and touched the lives of billions of people around the world. It gives me tremendous pleasure to think that many of those same people have been motivated to reach out to others in turn.
This charitable effort was conceived, organized and executed by a group of generous fans willing to donate their time and energies to a worthy cause. I’m honored to participate in this process, and I thank you for doing the same.”

Wentworth Miller

The project was conceived as a way for Wentworth’s fans to show their appreciation and support for their favorite actor by donating to a favored charity nominated by him.

This project will run from 1st April, 2008 until the 30th June, 2008
, so that anyone who wishes to make a donation to this cause in lieu of a birthday gift to Wentworth may do so.

Stunning!

Peggy Lipton (left) with daughter Rashida Jones (center) from The Office

Can you believe Peggy is 61 years old?  I’ve read that she has had no cosmetic procedures and has aged naturally.  You can read her advice in Allure Magazine.

Hugh Doesn’t Like Interviews

Hugh Laurie

And really, who can blame him?  Lots of people don’t like interviews, but Hugh’s coming clean about it.  I’m just glad we get to see him on TV and in films.  It’s fine with me if he doesn’t do interviews.

From icydk.com:

He says, “Obviously you are in a very vulnerable position (when you give an interview). You are putting your testicles on a chopping board. I get anxious about a lot of things, that’s the trouble. I get anxious about everything. I just can’t stop thinking about things all the time. And here’s the really destructive part - it’s always retrospective. I waste time thinking of what I should have said or done. I can’t bear going through the same f***ing dance of despair.”

These good sports got slimed for the Kid’s Choice Awards last night.  I do think more ladies need to get in on this action.
