Benicio is The Wolfman

Benicio Del Toro as “The Wolfman” (makeup by Rick Baker)

Benicio Del Toro will star as “The Wolfman” which comes out in February 2009.  The film also stars Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt and Hugo Weaving.  Rick Baker did the makeup and as always did a fabulous job as you can see.  I’m stoked to see this one because I love Del Toro and Rick Baker and between them they could really bring the character to life (and that’s saying something when you consider it’s the freakin’ Wolfman we’re talking about here).

Simon Cowell Does A Good Deed

Simon Cowell

American Idol judge Simon Cowell has donated $162,000 to the family of a three year old cancer patient to pay off their home.  Read about it here.  I don’t know if he does good deeds all the time or not, but I like to point ‘em out when I find ‘em.

Celebs Make Time For L.A. Conservation Corps

Jake Gyllenhaal

Jake Gyllenhaal, Maria Shriver, Xzibit, and Wilmer Valderrama (among others) were at the Conservation Corps scholarship luncheon in L.A. yesterday.  He was a guest presenter and introduced a couple of winners who had overcome some very tough issues just to graduate.  It’s nice to see support for the real heroes in this world.

New From Diablo

Diablo Cody

This new film is called “Jennifer’s Body” and is described as a horror-comedy (my favorite type of comedy).

From Hollyscoop.com

Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody has a new movie on the horizon, and this one is going to be a sci-fi thriller. The cast so far is pretty A-list: Amanda Seyfried from Mean Girls, Megan Fox, Adam Brody, and J.K. Simmons, who played Juno’s father. The movie is about a cheerleader named Jennifer (played by Fox), who possesses a demon and starts feeding off of the boys in a Minnesota farming town. Her best friend (Seyfried) must take drastic measures to protect the town.

Brody will play Nikolai, a hot lead singer of an up-and-coming rock band with a penchant for evil. Simmons will play Mr. Wroblewski, a high school science teacher.

Speed Racer Never Looked Like This

Just wanted to post this “Speed Racer” poster because I don’t remember him looking like this when I was a kid.

Gervais’ Truth

Ricky Gervais

From Comingsoon.net

Ricky Gervais has revealed on his Blog for This Side of the Truth that John Hodgman (“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”), Tina Fey (“30 Rock,” “Saturday Night Live”), Christopher Guest (Best in Show) and Jeffrey Tambor (Hellboy II: The Golden Army, “Arrested Development”) have joined the cast of his new comedy at Warner Bros. Pictures.

They join the previously announced Jennifer Garner, Rob Lowe, Jonah Hill, Louis C.K. and Gervais in the cast.

The film is set in a contemporary world where no one has ever lied. Gervais will play a performer who tells the first lie and harnesses its power for personal gain.

Gervais and Matt Robinson wrote the script.

This sounds like a great cast but to be honest (which seems appropriate) I love Ricky Gervais in any and everything.
