These good sports got slimed for the Kid’s Choice Awards last night.  I do think more ladies need to get in on this action.

Morgan Freeman Honored

Morgan Freeman

Morgan, along with others, was honored at the Shinnyo-En Six Billion Paths to Peace gala.  I love him and he deserves every honor he receives.

25/8

Wes Craven

Wes Craven is doing a new horror film which sounds a bit like Nightmare on

Elm Street

.  But I loved Nightmare on

Elm Street

so I’m ready to see 25/8.  I’m also very excited to see a new generation of actors begin to rise in the ranks.

From comingsoon.net:

Henry Lee Hopper, Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps and Emily Meade will star in Wes Craven’s tentatively titled horror thriller 25/8 for Rogue Pictures, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Hopper, the son of Dennis Hopper, will play the lead role of Bug, one of seven teens haunted by a serial killer who supposedly died when they were born 15 years earlier. The film takes place over the course of a day as the mystery of who (or what) is stalking the small-town high schoolers unfolds.

The Fall

If you like Lee Pace in “Pushing Daisies” this sounds like your kind of movie (mine too).

From imdb:

In a hospital a little girl with a broken collar bone meets a bedridden man who starts telling her a fantastical story which reflects his state of mind. As time goes by fiction and reality start to intertwine in this uplifting epic fantasy.

See the preview here.

Courtney and David Pledge $1 Million

Courtney Cox and David Arquette

From looktothestars.org

The clock is ticking for actors Courteney Cox and David Arquette, who have pledged to raise $1 million in two weeks to benefit the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation (EBMRF).

Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a genetic condition that causes skin and linings to break and blister at the slightest touch. Sufferers battle daily with fluid loss and infection of the open wounds. In worst cases, they’ll die of skin cancer before the age of 40, many in infancy.

“Now is such an important time to put the spotlight on EB and ensure that research can continue at a fast pace,” Cox told the Associated Press.

Both Cox and Arquette are honorary board members of the foundation, as are actors Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Jackie and Adam Sandler and singers Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani. Kate Beckinsale, Orlando Bloom, Rashida Jones, Eva Longoria and James Marsden have also joined the challenge to bring much needed attention to the painful disease.

Cox and Arquette have a personal link to EB as someone close to them suffers from it. To raise funds for EBMRF on an ongoing basis they have co-designed a necklace with a butterfly, a symbol for hope and freedom, etched onto a small silver pendant, on sale at SATYA boutique in New York and online at www.satyajewelry.com.

D.B. Cooper’s Parachute Found?

From boingboing.net

36 years after he jumped from a hijacked plane with a bag containing $200,000 in ransom, D.B. Cooper’s whereabouts remain unknown. But his parachute was discovered yesterday.

If it is Cooper’s parachute, that will solve one mystery — where he apparently landed — but it will raise another, Carr said.
In 1980, a family on a picnic found $5,880 of Cooper’s money in a bag on a Columbia River beach, near Vancouver . Some investigators believed it might have been washed down to the beach by the Washougal River . But if Cooper landed near Amboy and stashed the money bag there, there’s no way it could have naturally reached the Washougal.
“If this is D.B. Cooper’s parachute, the money could not have arrived at its discovery location by natural means,” Carr said. “That whole theory is out the window.”

Dr. Pepper For Everyone!

Axl Rose

From Billboard:

Many have tried, but so far nobody has been able to pry the decade-in-the-works Guns N’ Roses album Chinese Democracy from the hands of lone remaining original member Axl Rose.

Now, Dr Pepper thinks it’s up to the challenge. The soft drink company says it will give a free can of Dr Pepper to “everyone in America ” (excluding ex-GNR members Slash and Buckethead) if Chinese Democracy arrives anytime during the calendar year 2008.

It took a little patience to perfect Dr Pepper’s special mix of 23 ingredients, which our fans have come to know and love. So we completely understand and empathize with Axl’s quest for perfection — for something more than the average album. We know once it’s released, people will refer to it as “Dr Pepper for the ears” because it will be such a refreshing blend of rich, bold sounds — an instant classic.

George and Renee…So Classy

Renee Zellweger and George Clooney

George Clooney and Renee Zellweger were on their Whistle-stop premiere tour.  They are shown here in Duluth Minnesota to promote “Leatherheads”.  This is truly the classiest premiere I’ve seen in a long time.  It promotes the movie and shows real style.
