Ethan is Expecting a Baby

Ethan Hawke and his girlfriend may be expecting a baby, but I’m expecting “Daybreakers”.  I’m still waiting for this vampire flick which is supposed to be out this year.

Ethan Hawke and Vince Colosimo in “Daybreakers”

Ethan Hawke plays Ed, a researcher in the year 2017, in which an unknown plague has transformed the world’s population into vampires. As the human population nears extinction, vampires must capture and farm every remaining human, or find a blood substitute before time runs out. However, a covert group of vampires makes a remarkable discovery, one which has the power to save the human race.

Starring Ethan Hawke, Vince Colosimo, Willem Dafoe, Sam Neill, Claudia Karvan and directed by Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig.

Where’s Spike?

James Marsters

I saw an ad for the next episode of Smallville and recognized James Marsters as Prof. Milton Fine (a role he’s played periodically on the series).  Off to imdb to find out what else he’s been doing these days.  (Oh how I miss Spike).  Seems he’s continuing the bad boy persona he does so very well by playing Ted Bundy in “Chasing the Devil” (a mini-series). He’s also currently working on “Dragonball” a live action film in which he plays the villain, Piccolo.  Now, I know actors don’t like to be typecast and I can understand that, but James is soooo good at the villain roles.  I think Spike was one of his best because Spike was a villain you could love.

The More the Merrier

Michael Mann (Hey Thanks)

Earlier I mentioned that Christian Bale and Johnny Depp will be starring together in “Public Enemies”.  Well it gets better…
From Comingsoon.net:
Director Michael Mann has set Marion Cotillard (La Vie en rose), Channing Tatum, Giovanni Ribisi, Stephen Dorff and Jason Clarke to join Johnny Depp and Christian Bale in Public Enemies.

Variety says the Depression-era crime drama gets under way in Chicago on March 10 for Universal Pictures.

The Oscar-nominated Cotillard will play Billie Frechette, the lover of the country’s most notorious gangster, John Dillinger (Depp).

Tatum will play outlaw Pretty Boy Floyd, Ribisi will play Alvin Karpis, Dorff is near a deal to play Homer Van Meter, and Clarke will play John “Red” Hamilton. That quartet repped a Dillinger gang that knocked off banks all over the Midwest during the Depression.

Bale plays Melvin Purvis, who was tapped by FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover to lead a manhunt that established the FBI as the country’s first federal police force after the G-Men killed Dillinger outside the Biograph Theater in 1934.

30 Seconds To Mars Has A New Video

30 Seconds to Mars

The song is “A Beautiful Lie” and this is a beautiful video.  The cinematography and scenery are both stunning.  And not only that but they’ve got a new website  in conjunction with The Natural Resources Defense Council all about conservation and living green.  There are some great tips and links to help everyone go green.  And of course, for all of you 30STM fans, there are some great photos of the shoot in Greenland .  The motto on the logo on this page says “Sussisto Procul Nusquam”.  As far as my limited Latin abilities will allow, I have decided it says “Never Exist At A Distance” or some permutation thereof.  If anyone has a more accurate translation, please share.  Go here and watch the new video.  It’s truly a work of art.

Turn This Off Right Now and Go Outside and Breathe.  I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Jim Is Courageous

Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey did his own bungee stunt for his film “Yes Man”.  He jumped off the Colorado Street Bridge in Pasadena.  After safely landing he was applauded.  Yup, I would applaud too.
